Glendalough's monastic site is one of Ireland's most famous landmarks and the visitors centre sits nestled in the spectacular scenery of the Garden County, County Wicklow.

The early Christian Monastic site of Glendalough, in County Wicklow, was founded by St Kevin in the 6th century. Set in a glaciated valley with two lakes, the monastic remains include a superb round tower, stone churches and decorated crosses. There are beautiful walks through the valley and around the lakes. The Visitor Centre, which is also within the National Park, has an interesting exhibition and an audio-visual show. Maps, guides and information on the area's cultural and natural heritage is available to visitors at the Visitor Centre. The Visitor Centre is fully accessible for visitors with disabilities. Access to the site, however, is very difficult for wheelchair users.
