Make your own soda bread and wheaten bread and feast on homemade jams and butters.

My home may not be the tidiest but it’s lived in and we love it! It’s an 18th century thatched cottage, 30 minutes from Belfast City Centre and it is located within touching distance of Strangford Lough in an area of outstanding natural beauty. We have a story to tell about the Cottage, its history and the history of the traditional Breads of this part of Northern Ireland.

I love to welcome Visitors to my home, as they arrive to the aroma of freshly made Soda bread coming off the Griddle. Please make yourselves at home! Meet our gorgeous dogs – Sidney and Paddy, or collect eggs from our lovely Hens.
The Farmhouse Kitchen table will be laden with homemade treats, and with handmade award winning butters – original and dulse {seaweed}, homemade jams etc. The butters were the butters of choice for Harry and Meghan’s Wedding!
I will invite you to make your own traditional Irish Griddle Breads – Soda Bread and Wheaten bread. As these breads are made on a Griddle, they are ready within 10 minutes! We make them the traditional way – no weighing and no measuring! It’s very relaxing and good fun – even for the non – Bakers!
Breads made, you’ll be ready for another Tea or Coffee and the chance to enjoy the fruits of your labour with homemade jams and butters around the Farmhouse kitchen table.

You will take your homemade breads home away with you along with a copy of the recipes so that you can impress your friends at home!
This experience is hands on and immersive, and great fun! Finally, one word of advice - bring an appetite!
