Afternoon Tea with a difference
You have to try the ‘Hendricks High Tea experience’, a gin & cucumber cocktail served in a teapot and tea cups at The Exchequer or Art Tea at The Merrion where miniature cakes inspired by the work of J.B Yeats, William Scott and Louis Le Brocquy can be enjoyed in the Merrion’s Drawing Rooms.
Cake with a difference
The award winning Cake Cafe can be accessed through the Daintree paper shop. The Daintree Building is one of a kind. Inspired by the rainforest in Australia after which it is named, Daintree meets some of its own energy, material, food and water needs.
Explore the Dublin Markets
Some of the more unusual include The Ha’penny Flea and The Brocante Market & Retro Furniture Market.
Don’t miss The Dublin Flea Market , which sells everything from vintage clothes to furniture to random knick knacks, the popular market also plays host to a mix of DJs and live bands to keep punters entertained as they sift through the trinkets on offer.
On Sunday there's a chance to spend your afternoon leafing through other people’s once-prized possessions whilst eating deliciously fresh falafel and meeting some interesting people. You can be lucky with great vintage finds, unusual art or interesting books, but even if you just soak up the atmosphere it’s a great way to spend your Sunday afternoon.
For some tasty bites in one of The Dubline’s key attractions
Visit The Silk Road Café in the Chester Beatty Library in Dublin Castle with a view over the Castle garden. Here you can sample some middle eastern treats based on the countries represented in the museum.
