The Ulster Fleadh is a unique event and experience and offers something for everyone. It is a safe, family friendly festival of Irish music, song, dance and language - suitable for all ages. Fleadh Cheoil, which literally means 'feast of music', is a magnificent street festival with a mix of competitions and free to attend cultural events which showcase each element of Irish culture.
The event is an authentic display of Ulster’s traditional music heritage presented in its purest form. It is unrivalled in its welcoming atmosphere, street entertainment and delivers 'must do' activities for visitors.
The location - Castlewellan, Co.Down, boasts the majestic Mourne Mountains, sprawling forest parks, blue flag beaches and award winning golf courses. Over the course of the event there will be guided tours of historical sites, cross community concerts highlighting the connections and shared nature of Ulster’s cultural heritage and sessions based around the historic Peace Maze.
The event also offer visitors the opportunity to watch and listen to some of the finest exponents of Irish music from across the world for free as they play alongside their musical contemporaries in relaxed street and pub sessions.
