Dieses beeindruckende Museum wurde 2006 im Stadtteil Bogside eröffnet und ist eine wichtige Erinnerung an eine entscheidende Epoche in der Geschichte Nordirlands. Die kleine, aber aufschlussreiche Ausstellung erzählt die Geschichte der Bürgerrechtsbewegung in den 1960er Jahren und der Free Derry-Bewegung in den Jahren 1968-1972.
Das Museum befindet sich an demselben Ort, an dem sich die ursprünglichen Ereignisse abgespielt haben, und zeigt die tragische Geschichte des "Bloody Sunday". Mit über 25.000 Artefakten, darunter Fotos, seltene Dokumente und persönliche Berichte, bietet das Museum of Free Derry die Möglichkeit, die Ereignisse sowohl aus historischer als auch aus zeitgenössischer Perspektive zu erkunden.
