Crawfordsburn Country Park has excellent beaches, spectacular scenery and views across Belfast Lough
We invite you to come and explore Crawfordsburn Country Park. This scenic and tranquil park is situated on the coast between Bangor and Holywood. Visitors will definitely feel relaxed in this natural retreat as there are two excellent beaches with guaranteed spectacular scenery and views across Belfast Lough. They may also be able to experience breathtaking walks through peaceful meadows if they are lucky they may be able to catch a glimpse of the stunning waterfall.
Facilities include a large visitor centre and café, an Adidas-approved 5K running trail, a new natural play area and a geology garden. This park is also home to a wide range of wildlife which include hedgehogs, rabbits, badgers, a large rookery and jays in the wooded glen, grey wagtails and dippers along the streams and seals, herons, shags, guillemots and, in winter, Brent geese can be seen when walking along the Park's coastal path. If you are in the park on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, don't miss visiting Grey Point Fort - an historic monument in state care completed in 1907 to defend Belfast from sea-borne attack, with its enormous guns, which can be seen from the coastal path which is located west of Helen's Bay beach.
NOTE:PARK MAINTENANCE & REPAIRS - ADVANCE WARNING
Crawfordsburn Country Park has a number of infrastructure projects underway at Coastguard Avenue, Seapark Helen’s Bay and within the main park itself. Please be cautious of construction vehicles when using the park and observe hazard warning signage.
Old Windmill Road bank has sub-sided on the exit road.
From 12 March there will be no parking in the laybys. Lane closures will be managed by traffic lights 24 hours daily until the end of March. We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience.
It is proposed to temporarily close a section of the ND Coastal Path in front of Royal Belfast Golf Club to repair the path surface. As this path is tidal there will be no access at High Tide during the construction phase starting 12 March for 2 weeks. If intending to use this section of path check with the park office beforehand.
