The Irish Museum of Modern Art, housed in the magnificent 17th century Royal Hospital building in Kilmainham Dublin, is an artistic gem with its extensive collection of modern and contemporary art.
The Irish Museum of Modern (IMMA) Art is Ireland's leading national institution for the collection and presentation of modern and contemporary art.
IMMA is conveniently located close to the Luas Red line at Heuston station.
The Museum presents a wide variety of art in a dynamic programme of exhibitions, which regularly includes bodies of work from its own collection and its award winning Education and Community Department. It also creates more widespread access to art and artists through its studio and national programmes.
The Museum is housed in the 17th century Royal Hospital building in Kilmainham, Dublin, whose grounds include a formal garden, meadow and medieval burial grounds.
The main exhibition halls at IMMA will be closed for renovations from the 1st of November 2011 to the 1st of December 2012. The new galleries, book shop, café and grounds will, however, be open.
