Star Wars and Ireland on Twitter

See what the cast and crew were tweeting while shooting Episode VIII in Ireland.

The Force was strong in Ireland when Star Wars returned to shoot the upcoming Episode VIII. In fact, the cast and crew loved the island so much they took to social media to tell their millions of Followers about it. Mark Hamill tweeted his appreciation of Irish snacks, praised the locals and shared pictures of landscapes he described as “an endless gallery of incomprehensible beauty.”

But it wasn’t just the galaxy’s most famous Jedi who felt as at home here. Director Rian Johnson took part in music sessions in traditional pubs with star Daisy Ridley and proclaimed his love for the Emerald Isle on Twitter. Cast, crew and wookies visited local schools and hospitals and LucasFilm even took out ads in local newspapers along the west coast to express their gratitude and say “Go mbeidh an fórsa leat!” – Irish for "May the force be with you"!
