Looking for something a little different and uniquely Irish? Pop into Ireland’s first and only cookie shop. All hand made in store, their classic and innovative cookie & cookie dough flavours are a treat for all.
When Jenny Synnott moved from Boston to Dublin and started baking her heirloom cookie recipes she discovered something amazing – when she used Irish butter, Irish eggs and Irish flour the taste went to a whole new level. A couple of years later, The Dublin Cookie Company was born, bringing together classic American recipes with fantastic Irish ingredients. After travelling the length and breadth of Ireland to festivals and food markets along with her partner Elaine Cohalan (also Irish), Jenny opened Ireland’s first cookie shop in the heart of old Dublin (The Liberties) in March 2016. Here the couple mix and bake fresh cookies daily in their open plan kitchen and sell them warm from their counter. With tried and true flavours such as Classic Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal Raisin, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip and White Chocolate & Cranberry and innovative ones like Sea Salted Caramel & Toasted Pecan, Carrot Cake, Banoffee and many more there is sure to be something for everyone. They also make flavoured milks to wash down the cookies, bake-at-home cookie dough and amazing speciality Irish-roasted coffee and a range of speciality teas.
Stop in for a cuppa, a cookie and a chat. The Dublin Cookie Company Cookie Shop is based at 29 Thomas Street, the home of Ireland’s Patrick Lynch who fought for Ireland’s independence at the GPO in 1916. The shop is also on the corner of St. Catherine’s Lane East – Ireland’s oldest Viking laneway. Soak up the history and flavour of The Liberties or pop in for some cookies to take away. You will leave with a smile, fact!
