Doonbeg River is a great salmon and sea trout river in County Claire. It rises in Lissycasey and flows westwards through Cooraclare and Doonbeg to the sea. It gets a small run of spring salmon and a fair run of grilse and sea trout from June.

Whitestrand Doonbeg is famous for its white sand that frames magnificent coastal scenery. This sandy beach is located 2.5km west of the village of Doonbeg off the N67 road.
Doughmore Bay is situated in the village of Doonbeg, Co. Clare. Stretching 4.5km you can walk on its long beach of sandy terrain.
