Clewbay Cruises offering guided cruises of Clewbay Bay, located in Westport Harbour, Westport, Co. Mayo. 2km from Westport Town Centre. 500m from the main entrance to Westport House.
No visit to Westport, or Mayo would be complete without a cruise on Clew Bay. The bay is home to a thriving seal colony, beautiful secluded beaches, breathtaking views of Croagh Patrick, Murrisk Abbey and Bertraw Beach (with it's untouched sand dunes). You'll enjoy sailing past the many sheltered islands, Inishgort Lighthouse and finish our cruise a few meters from the shore of Dorinish Island; on which John Lennon stayed and owned. The remains of the huts and dwellings used by the hippies that called the island home can be clearly seen. Clewbay’s onboard commentary will guide you through the history of Clew Bay, from battles to tragedies, from the Ice Age to modern day. With complimentary binoculars available onboard, no sight will be far from your eyes reach.
Clewbay’s modern cruise ship can accomodate up to 50 passengers, has been designed for maximum comfort and safety to guests and offer uninterrupted views of the spectacular scenery. The vessel Spiorad Naomh Phadraig (Spirit of St. Patrick) is very suitable for young and old alike. There is no need to be concerned above sea sickness either as the cruise sails between the sheltered islands of Clew Bay, its waters are always calm.
Clewbay Crusiers also offer refreshments, small snacks and Tea/Coffee/Cappuchino/Lattes, etc...
Unfortunately, at present, Clewbay Curisers cannot offer wheelchair accessibility but would in time hope to be able to do so.
