Canters Restaurant is one of Fairviews premier restaurants, offering predominantly European, Thai and Irish cuisine.
This low-key stylish newcomer is a breath of fresh air to Fairview. Formerly Trotters, one of the oldest restaurants in the area, the premises has been given a welcome makeover.
Dishes such as Citrus Vinaigrette Roast Chicken and Crisp Half Roast Duck, with pumpkin spring roll and tamarind sauce, are indicative of the kind of broad menu Canters offers.
Firm favourites regularly feature on the menu, which strikes a good balance between contemporary and classic. Freshly sourced produce is to the fore in starters like carpaccio of beef. Follow this with the pan-seared salmon with wilted spinach, sundried tomato and prawn cream sauce. Finish with the rhubarb crumble or the blueberry pancakes, if available.
Friendly service, savoury food in a relaxed and tranquil restaurant are some of the reasons to enjoy this new local eatery. Sound technical skills and quality produce are the key to the success of the dishes. The service is excellent.
