Glasnevin Museum and Cemetery offers a dynamic interpretation of Ireland’s history told through the lives of the people buried in Ireland’s necropolis. We have access to a rich narrative of Ireland told through the stories of Daniel O’Connell, Charles Stewart Parnell, Michael Collins, Eamon DeValera, Countess Marckievicz and Brendan Behan to name but a few. We offer daily tours and interactive exhibitions. Parking is available on site. The museum and the tour are wheelchair accessible.

Glasnevin Museum is easily accessed by public transport from the city centre by bus number 140. The Glasnevin Trust shop has plenty to choose from for the perfect gift including heritage books, designer craft ware and jewellery. The Tower Cafe located in the museum serves high quality food and refreshments and is available for group bookings. A number of pubs and restaurants are located in the vicinity. John Kavanaghs known locally as the Grave Diggers is located at the original gate of the cemetery and shares in a wealth of history.

Glasnevin Cemetary Museum opened in April 2010 and within a short time was honoured with 6 awards including the internationally renowned Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement. In May 2011, Glasnevin Museum was awarded the Best International Museum at the Museum and Heritage Awards in London.
