Clare Island beach is a rural, sandy beach, located off the coast of County Mayo and is accessible by a ferry from Roonagh Pier.
Claire Island’s beach surrounds the main harbour and is an ideal spot for swimming and exploring the shoreline. The beach can be found on the east side of the island, beside the harbour which serves passengers from the mainland.
Claire Island has an approximate population of 250 and is the largest island in the bay. The beach is located very near the pier. All boats arriving to the island must berth at this pier.
Lifeguards are not on duty during the bathing season but lifebuoys are provided on the beach.
This beach has received the International Blue Flag award for 2017.
