Revenge is on the menu for Joe Schmidt’s side as they square up against Wales in the NatWest Six Nations this spring.

Revenge is on the menu for Joe Schmidt’s side as they square up against Wales in the NatWest Six Nations this spring. Last season’s frustrating 22-9 defeat in Cardiff saw Ireland’s hopes of a championship victory left in tatters, so Jonny Sexton, Peter O’Mahony, and company will be hoping that they can return the favour in Dublin.

Despite the fact that Ireland have to go back to 2014 – Schmidt’s first season in charge – for their last Six Nations victory against the Welsh, Ireland will be favourites to beat a Welsh team that only managed narrow wins against Georgia and an under-par South African team in their autumn tests.

Under Schmidt, Ireland have not lost a Six Nations game at home, and the Aviva Stadium crowd will want to make sure that the Boys in Green keep that proud record against the Welsh.
