The Mouth of a Shark deals with the theme of home in terms of migration.
As part of THISISPOPBABY’s Where We Live program, The Complex will host a selection of works-in-progress by Irish playwrights focusing on the theme of home.
The Mouth of a Shark is a collaboration between director Oonagh Murphy and musician and composer Maeve Stone. It deals with the theme of home in terms of migration. The play contrasts Irish emigrant experiences with the experiences of those who come to Ireland in search of asylum from political turmoil.
As the issue of migration from war-torn areas of Africa and Asia to Europe becomes an ever more pertinent issue for our times, The Mouth of a Shark asks the question, where do we get to call home?
