The West Cork Literary Festival runs from 10 – 17 July 2020 and welcomes a star-studded cast of writers to Bantry, Co Cork. Readings, seminars, workshops, children's events and events showcasing the Wild Atlantic Way.
The West Cork Literary Festival runs from 10 – 17 July 2020 and welcomes a star-studded cast of writers to Bantry, Co Cork. Amongst the writers at the 2020 Festival are poets Paul Muldoon, Carol Ann Duffy and Hannah Sullivan; novelists Eimear McBride, Zadie Smith and Deborah Levy; essayist Leslie Jamison and Sara Baume. The full line-up will be announced in Spring 2020.
Five day workshops are at the heart of the festival and renowned poet Paul Muldoon will tutor the Poetry Workshop. The full workshop programme will be announced in early 2020.
The West Cork Literary Festival showcases the Wild Atlantic Way through a series of events including a Festival Walk in the stunning landscape of the Bantry area, a morning swim in Bantry Bay and a travel writing workshop and reading on Whiddy Island. Aspiring writers can avail of daily Editor-in-Residence sessions and industry events. There are a number of free readings in Bantry Library and Bantry Bookshop.
