Situated on one of Ireland’s beautiful islands, Inishbofin Island Hostel was originally a traditional farmhouse that has been converted into a cosy, modern hostel while retaining the charm of the old building. A variety of rooms are available.
Inishbofin Hostel is a wonderful place to stay while relaxing on the beautiful island of the same name, which is located just eleven kilometers off the coast of Galway and accessible by ferry from Cleggan. The modern hostel was originally a traditional farmhouse, and retains the charm and character of the old building.
The property has fifty beds in small dorms, private and family rooms. There is a self-catering kitchen, large dining area, library, bicycle shed, washing/drying facilities, central heating and free showers. From the winter garden, guests can take in spectacular views of the Connemara mountains and coastline.
As well as scuba diving and snorkeling we now have paddle boarding, canoeing, sailing courses, guided walks, shore and deep sea fishing. There is also a great variety of bird and plant life.
Inishbofin is one of the last places in Ireland where the Corncrake continues to thrive. His call can be heard from early April to August.
Visitors also won’t want to miss the lively music scene of the island, which has its own Ceilí band.
