If you like the idea of camping and getting close to nature, but don’t want to give up some of the luxuries of a hotel, glamping – short for glamorous camping – could be for you. You get to stay in a tent or cosy pod in the outdoors, but you still have a proper bed with pillows and a duvet, electricity, access to a bathroom and of course scenic views.

Ireland is perfect for glamping as there are so many options – you can escape to an island or a lakeside haven, glamp in the grounds of a castle, a farm or a country manor and sleep in everything from a safari tent to a shepherd’s hut or a forest bubble. We’ve picked some favourite glamping spots around Ireland to give you inspiration when planning your next glamping trip.

Sustainability is important and menus in the Boathouse Bistro and Shutters pizza restaurant feature local produce. This is a great base for exploring Kenmare with the Ring of Kerry, Killarney National Park and the Beara Peninsula all within easy reach.
