A personal insight as seen through the lens of local photographer and designer, Nigel Jamison.
Down is one of Ireland’s most beautiful counties, with its breathtaking hills and mountains, hidden lakes and streams and its wonderful coastline.
To stand on the rocks at St. John’s Point, waiting for the dawn, with the light from the great lighthouse swinging around overhead illuminating the darkness, the sound of the unseen waves crashing and the plaintive whistle of seabirds is truly a wonderful experience. This place was instrumental in Nigel’s decision to make the coast of County Down the subject of this, his first photographic exhibition.
Landscape photography can be a solitary pastime so it is Nigel’s hope that this very personal collection of photographs from around the coast of County Down and Strangford Lough, will bring his experiences closer to those who haven’t yet explored this county’s magnificent coastal delights.
