West End Bar & Restaurant is a seafood bar, restaurant and guesthouse serving fresh fish and quality meats in Fenit fishing village only 12km from Tralee, County Kerry.
Located seven miles from Tralee town on the Atlantic coastline and fabled to be the first starting point of Saint Brendan the navigator, the West End Bar & Restaurant overlooks Tralee bay and is sheltered by the Slieve Mise mountains to the south and Brandon Head to the west. The West End is a fifth generation public house located in the picturesque village of Fenit, a small fishing port with a busy marina. Over the past 12 years they have established themselves as one of the best restauants in north Kerry.
Rooms at the West End are all ensuite and include tea/coffee making facilities. Iron and ironing board are available on request. Complimentary WiFi is available in all the public areas and there is also a private car park for guests use.
The West End has been run by five generations of the O’Keefe family in Fenit. Now helmed by award winning chef Bryan O’Keefe. Elected to the panel of Chef's of Ireland in 1994, Bryan has won medals at various competitions throughout his career and is a member of the BIM Good Food Circle. The West End is recommended by the prestigious Georgina Campbell Food Guide, the Bridgestone Guide and the bar and restuarant are approved by Failte Ireland.
Fenit, An Fhianait, meaning 'The Wild Place' is an area of astounding natural beauty. Located on the north side of Tralee Bay, Fenit is enclosed from the Atlantic by the Maharee spit which extends northwards from the Dingle peninsula. An area rich in history and story, the St Brendan statue commemorates the Navigators voyage to America. Tralee Golf course lies just across the straits of Barrow Harbour and the town itself features Fenit Marina and Tralee Sailing Club.
