EastSide Arts Festival will take place Thursday 21st- Monday 25th August 2014.

The aim of the Festival is to celebrate the incredible creative talent; writers, artists, musicians and film- makers, both of the past and present, that have come from East Belfast and this year particularly focusing on those who attended Orangefield High Schools.

Orangefield Boys' School's most famous alumni, Van Morrison, who will be performing over two nights in the school Assembly Hall. One performance will be for ex pupils and teachers and the other will be open to the public.

Other artists participating include Eric Bell, Marie Jones, Brian Keenan, Sam McCready, Kaz Hawkins, Gerald Dawe, Dan Gordon, Glenn Patterson, George Lowden, Donal Lunny and Anthony Cronin.

The festival will also celebrate playwright Stewart Parker with a reading of his play, "Pentecost" by Lyric Theatre.

There will be a mini Festival of Films written by East Belfast writers and a night of nostalgia with Belfast Swing Big Band.
