Having kicked off their U20 Six Nations Championship on the previous Friday night against France in Brive, Ireland’s U20 team plays the first of the three consecutive home games against Italy in Donnybrook Stadium.

The last of three consecutive home games that form the meat in Ireland’s U20 Six Nations sandwich, Scotland could prove the most surprising opponent for Ireland this spring.

Although Ireland pipped them by a point in last year’s tournament, the Scots managed a 32-28 reverse the U20 World Championships in Georgia last June, where they finished fifth overall. With Scottish rugby on an upward trajectory, John Dalziel’s team will provide a very stern test for Peter Malone’s Ireland team as they look to round off their Friday night games at Donnybrook with a win.

A date against reigning U20 Six Nations champions England looms in the final round of games and there’s every chance that this game could set Ireland up for a championship decider, so go cheer on the stars of the future under the lights at Donnybrook.
