Hue and Cry is a pop duo that started in the 1980s, composed of singer Patrick Kane and his brother and producer Gregory Kane. They were known for making sophisticated blue-eyed soul that saw them draw comparisons with the likes of Prefab Sprout and Deacon Blue.
The 1987 pop smash, Labour Of Love, remains the brothers' calling card, but the band has been expanding its musical horizons since the 1990s by experimenting with a variety of genres including folk and jazz.
The brothers have continued to produce albums regularly in the meantime. This visit to Dublin is to celebrate the release of the band's most recent record, Pocketful Of Stones, which integrates many of their influences, even calling back to the pop of their debut record.
These veterans have lost none of their sparkle over an intriguing career, and this full-band show will give them ample opportunity to dip into their deep catalogue.
