The Percy French Festival 2014 – The French Paradox - is set in the wonderful historic Georgian building of Castlecoote House in French's native Roscommon.
With an exciting and diverse programme of lectures, recitals, poems, monologues, music and paintings, this event celebrates the life and times of the multi-talented William Percy French. Whether you are a fan of Percy French's favourites such as 'The Mountains of Mourne', 'Phil the Fluther's Ball' or 'Are you Right there Michael', or simply someone with an interest in history, either local or national, then you will learn lots about the man behind the lyrics and the social realities of his era at this year's Percy French Summer School and Festival.
The festival features prominent speakers covering the historical and sociological context of his life and work.
