The Festival of Writing and Ideas brings together international minds with Irish counterparts for a weekend of conversation in the beautiful setting of Borris House and surrounding village in Co. Carlow.
Ireland, including Ian McEwan, PJ Harvey, Polly Samson, Kevin Barry, Rob Doyle, Lisa Hannigan, Michael Harding, and AC Grayling, to name a few. The weekend promises to bring together some of the most intriguing minds - novelists, journalists, film-makers, poets, theatre directors, war correspondents, biographers, artists, and political commentators.
The events will take place in the beautiful grounds of Borris House, as well as spilling out into venues such as pubs, libraries, and historic buildings, across the quaint and picturesque village of Borris in County Carlow.
As well as the spoken word programme, the festival will offer literary workshops as well as theatre, film screenings, a book launch, and music from participating speakers at night throughout the village pubs. Offering delicious food and wine stalls from around the country, the village of Borris is an idyllic setting to sit back and enjoy a weekend of inspiring and lively discourse, music, and theatre.
Further announcements and information on speakers can be seen on the Festival of Writing and Ideas website and social media pages.
