The family run Shalom is managed by Kevin and Jackie Woods and includes one self-catering unit. Shalom is the Hebrew word for peace, and this accommodations location is just that, peaceful. This house is situated in the medieval town of Carlingford, County Louth, on the shores of Carlingford Lough, overlooked by the Cooley Mountains on one side and the Mourne Mountains on the other.
Shalom apartment has one bedroom, and contains a double single and fold up single bed. The living area and kitchen are upstairs and have balconies to the front and rear. The balconies to the front overlook Carlingford Lough and the Mourne mountains and catch the morning sun. The balconies to the rear overlook the Cooley Mountains and catch the evening sun. All modern conveniences and linen are supplied.
Shalom is located a four minute walk from the Four Seasons Hotel, Ghan House and Carlingford Town Centre. Carlingford Town has 14 establishments where you can eat out, one of which is the Kingfisher Bistro an ever popular open kitchen serving modern Irish food. In the surrounding area there are spectacular opportunities for walking such as the famous Tain Way: a National way-marked walking route that covers a 40 km circuit walk of the Cooley mountains, on forest tracks, mountain paths, and country roads. For the adventurous there is also great sailing, golf, windsurfing, abseiling, rock climbing and canoeing.
