A spacious loft style apartment in a lovely loughside village. There are many visitor attractions nearby. Portaferry hosts Ireland's only aquarium Exploris where children (and adults) can handle fish in the touch pool. You may even come across seals being cared for in the seal bay. There are golf courses within a short drive of the village and some of the most beautiful scenery around the shores of Strangford Lough and at the Nature Reserve of Ballyquintin. Boats can be hired nearby for trips up the Lough or for sea and lough fishing. Mountstewart and Castleward, both National Trust properties are also close by and make great day trips with loads of activities to amuse the children. Clearsky outdoor pursuits are based at Castleward where you can hire bicycles to follow their 18 kilometres of pathways or you can go canoeing in the bay.

In Portaferry there are local coffee shops, craft shops and a pub where Irish music is regularly played. The local Portaferry hotel has a nice bar bistro and restaurant. The pretty conservation village of Strangford is a few minutes away by car/passenger ferry, it has a couple of restaurants, bars and small supermarkets. Downpatrick, the county town of Down is a short car ferry journey across Strangford Lough and it houses Down Cathedral, a museum, St Patrick's Centre and St Patrick's grave.

No need to bring the 'kitchen sink' as provisions needed on a daily basis will be supplied. All we ask is that you replace items if needed before you leave. There is also a range of books and magazines for visitors to read as they wish.
All bed linen and towels are supplied and the rental includes all heating and electricity charges.
