Lake House Hotel is a country house that sits in Portnoo, just steps from Clooney Lake in County Donegal. The three-star property's well-appointed rooms include single, twin, double and family configurations, in addition to a wheelchair- and pet-friendly room. All offer views of the lake or mountain and boast ensuite bathroom, direct dial phone, TV, hairdryer, and tea- and coffee-making facilities.

On the first floor landing area, there is a private guest lounge with panoramic views. It is the perfect place to read the newspaper and savour a few quiet moments over a coffee. On the ground floor, guests will find the bar and reception area, both with open peat fires. There’s also the Lake House Restaurant, which has received the prestigious Dining Pub of the Year Award several times. The restaurant serves an À la carte menu that emphasises locally sourced ingredients, in particular Gweebara oysters, Rosbeg lobsters, and Donegal lamb and beef.

With its picturesque location and experienced staff, the Lake House Hotel is a wonderful choice for a wedding of up to 160 guests. Whatever the season, the hotel offers a warm welcome, individually tailored menus and all the details for a memorable celebration.

In and around Portnoo, visitors will find several ways to pass the time. The area is home to a splendid Blue Flag beach, the perfect place to relax or enjoy water sports. There is also a scenic, 18-hole golf course and a number of destinations for a day trip, such as Glenties, Glencolumbkille and Glenveagh National Park.
