Set in the undulating countryside of County Wicklow, the Old Milking Parlour is the perfect place to enjoy the unique ambiance of a 17th-century Quaker settlement. The owners, Philip and Delphine Geoghegan, provide beautiful self-catering accommodation with a difference.
There are two ensuite bedrooms, each with a double bed and single sofa bed. The stylish kitchen hosts A-rated appliances, a cooker, refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave. Walk-in showers, under-floor geo-thermal heating, solar panels, south facing roof lights and eco-friendly products provide guilt-free luxury. There is also WiFi available.
Whilst part of the original Quaker courtyard setting, the house opens from all living areas onto its own private garden with organic herb trough. Roses and lavender line the outdoor terrace, with table, chairs and sun loungers, making it a wonderful place to relax. The owners also cater for guests with children, as hours of fun are guaranteed with the sunken trampoline and swings (parental supervision required), table tennis, kiddy trikes, tractor and go-carts.
During their stay, guests can enjoy hill walking in the splendid Wicklow Mountains, or stroll the golden sands of Brittas Bay Beach. Idle in lovely Wicklow Town, indulge at a local spa, and visit beautiful gardens and attractions, such as Powerscourt and Mount Usher. Or simply relax in front of a crackling fire, take a book from the bookshelf and sip a complimentary bottle of wine.
