Cornode comprises three self-catering cottages set on the eastern shore of Lough Derg near Portroe, County Tipperary. Lackaroe is a quaint country cottage that stands on its own grounds. The idyllic location is a wonderful romantic hideaway and a great base for touring and exploring the countryside.
The cottage can sleep four people plus a baby in two bedrooms, both on the ground floor. There is one bathroom with bathtub, electric shower over it, basin and WC.
At Lackaroe Cottage, guests can relax in the living and dining area, which features an open fire and TV. The kitchen allows for preparing meals with ease, as it has an electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator. There is also a utility room with washing machine, dryer, vacuum, iron and hairdryer.
The cottage is an ideal base for visiting Lough Derg, renowned for its course fishing, and for touring other highlights of the region, such as the Burren, Cliffs of Moher, Birr Castle Gardens, Damer House, Rock of Cashel, Holycross Abbey, the Hunt Museum, King John’s Castle and Bunratty Castle.
Local towns and villages are Garrykennedy, Portroe and Nenagh, which has a railway station, bus stop, banks and post office. Golf, bicycle hire, pitch and putt, swimming pool, tennis, children’s activity centre, heritage centre, cinema, shops, restaurants and supermarkets are also available.
