Numerous nature trails, Lough side and woodland walks and cycle trails run throughout this park.
We invite you to come and explore Castle Archdale Country Park. This beautiful country park is situated on the shores of Lower Lough Erne. The Park provides a relaxing natural retreat and offers visitors gentle walks through woodland, wildflower meadows and along the Lough shore. Boats are available to hire for those wishing to explore the nearby islands. The Park is home to a wide range of wildlife including foxes, badgers and numerous species of birds. Former Estate features include the impressive landscaped courtyard, extensive parkland, a rock garden, walled garden and sweat house. A family-friendly cycle route passes through the Country Park and the adjacent Forest Park. A new series of landscaped water treatment ponds create additional wildlife habitats with nature walks.
Castle Archdale’s important role in WW2 as the most westerly flying-boat station, from which aircraft protected the allied convoys from the U-boat threat in the North Atlantic, is celebrated in a WW2 exhibition housed upstairs in the courtyard.
