The Step House Hotel is four star family-run boutique hotel located in the picturesque village of Borris, Co. Carlow at the foot of the Mount Leinster & The Blackstairs Mountains. The village of Borris is one hours drive from Dublin and two hours from Cork.

The warm and welcoming atmosphere of the hotel is designed to indulge, relax and unwind. From the original Gothic detailing of the entrance to the restrained opulence of the interior, this is a place to soothe and inspire. An eclectic collection of furniture and art, hand chosen over time, reflects the individual personality of the owners, Cait & James Coady, and will delight guests as they relax in the 1808 Bar and lounges.

Traditional Irish country hospitality is always evident, from delicious home-cooked breakfasts to freshly baked pastries and beautiful homemade scones. Food and wine are of course at the heart of the Step House experience. The Cellar Restaurant with its archways and vaulted ceilings is the perfect setting and focuses on seasonal, local and artisan ingredients.

With its wonderful cuisine and lovely setting, the Step House is also an ideal choice for a wedding in County Carlow. The Ballroom Suite, which can cater for up to 180 guests, is an elegant room with doors that lead out onto the landscaped garden. People can also choose to host a small wedding party of up to 60 people in Ruben’s Restaurant.

Located just 26km from Kilkenny City and only 29km from Carlow Town, Borris provides visitors with many things to see and do. The village is a picturesque place with old stone buildings, and traditional shops, bars and pubs. It is an excellent base for exploring the Blackstair Mountains and Mount Leinster Drive. The area features a range of outdoor activities, including golf, fishing, walking and hang gliding.
