Rathmullan House is a stunning, four-star hotel found on the coast in County Donegal. The historic property was built in 1820 as a summerhouse for the family of Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Knox. In the 1960's, it became a family-run hotel, and today it continues to offer travellers a lovely place where they can slow down and relax.
Rathmullan House has 32 ensuite bedrooms, all of which feature individual décor, carefully sourced antiques and comfortable beds. Guests can choose from superior, standard, single and family rooms. There is even pet-friendly accommodation for visitors bringing along their four-legged friends. Rooms include toiletries, hairdryer, bathrobes, iron, ironing board, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. Residents can make use of complimentary Wi-Fi access in public areas.
The gorgeous property features cosy lounges, beautiful gardens, an indoor swimming pool, tennis courts and a kid’s room. If that wasn’t enough, a long stretch of beach is just steps from the house. It is the perfect place for a leisurely stroll, horse-riding, swimming and relaxing.
After a day of activities, guests can treat themselves to dinner at the Weeping Elm Restaurant, which serves award-winning food and a special, wholesome menu for children. The restaurant is also open daily for breakfast. Delicious bar food is available at Batt’s Bar and the seasonal Cellar Bar.
The house is only half an hour's drive from the spectacular Glenveagh National Park & Castle. The extensive 16,000 hectare park consists of mountains, rare raised bog land, lakes and woodland. It also contains the largest red deer herd in the country.
