The Beach Hotel is a family-run three-star hotel which received Trip Advisor Hall of Fame Certificate of Excellence for 5 consecutive years. The hotel is located in the seaside village of Downings, County Donegal.

The Beach Hotel is a family-run hotel renowned for its friendly atmosphere and fine cuisine, and is ideally located on the famous Wild Atlantic Way. The Beach Hotel has been completely refurbished with all modern facilities, including complimentary fast WiFi throughout.

As a base to tour Donegal, Downings offers something for everyone with sandy beaches on its doorstep. Trá Beag is located directly behind the hotel, Trá Mor possesses miles of golden sand, Trá na Rossán is ideal for surfing, and the beach known as the Murder Hole. Deep Sea, Tuna and Shark fishing can be arranged. The local golf course was awarded 2013 Irish Golf Resort Of The Year. There are two 18-hole championship courses, a 9-hole course, along with pitch and putt facilities. Best of all, it is 5 minutes from the Beach Hotel and there are reduced green fee packages to offer guests through the hotel. The local facilities include family days out, supervised family fun on the beach during peak season, various teen and kids camps, indoor play zone, leisure centre, tennis, bicycle hire, and horse riding. Day trips include the scenic Atlantic Drive, Fanad Lighthouse, Lough Salt, Horn Head, Glenveagh National Park, Ards Forest Park, Ards Friary, Dunfanaghy Workhouse Heritage Centre, Dunlewey Lakeside Centre, Lurgybrack Open Farm, and Tory Island.

Watersports enthusiasts will not be disappointed with windsurfing, sailing, surfing, wreck diving, PADI open-water diving courses, scuba diving, indoor diving, coasteering, snorkelling, and sea kayaking along with adventure sessions on Downings Beach for 8 weeks during the summer. Downings is also the destination for the annual All Ireland Windsurfing competition, and an annual sailing regatta. On another sporting note, the area hosts the annual Donegal International motorsports event with special stages on the Atlantic Drive in Downings and Glen/Carrigart. For those looking for a driving experience, off-roading in customised jeeps is available minutes from the hotel.

There is a considerable amount of walking routes including two world-class loop walks on natural terrain. For those who wish to capture the picturesque surroundings, several painting breaks are available at the hotel. Downings cultural experiences include traditional Irish music, Irish language courses, currach racing (type of Irish boat), visit to Donegal Woollen Mill, kids Gaelic football camp, storytelling sessions in Teach John Mhici Ban, Irish nights that incorporate drama, song, dance, music and poetry.

The Beach Hotel is an excellent base to explore and experience the best from the Wild Atlantic Way with Fanad Lighthouse (a signature discovery point) close by, and Doe Castle a mere fifteen minute drive away.
