Mellotte's family run bed and breakfast is situated in Corr na Mona village on the Dooghty River, which links to the beautiful Lough Corrib. Lough Corrib is an angler's dream and fished primarily for wild brown trout. However, one can also fish for pike, perch and salmon. Corr na Mona is an ideal base for touring Connemara and Clifden. Galway City is within an hour's drive. Hill walkers, cyclists, artists and nature enthusiasts will marvel at the magnificent countryside, with wonderful views around each corner. Recently an old road (Sean Bother) has been re-surfaced and re-opened.
This road links Corr na Mona to the nearby village of Clonbur. This walk, run, or cycle, is a most awe inspiring journey. Almost all of Lough can be viewed from the top and you will see Mount Gable. Corr na Mona is a pretty village, where Irish is spoken by friendly, welcoming locals and any visitors who wish. Dermot and Mary promise to welcome you to their bed and breakfast and aim to make your stay with them a memorable one.
