Birchdale House is a Fáilte Ireland approved, four-star B&B. It is spaciously modern, warm and friendly, sitting on a one acre site and situated in the beautiful rural setting of Greenane Village, Rathdrum, with scenic views of the Wicklow Mountains.

It is a quiet retreat, which can be used as a base to visit the sites of Irelands' Garden County and the East Coast. It is also the ideal base for walking the Wicklow Way, climbing Lugnaquilla, playing golf or angling. It is also will situated when attending weddings in the area, such as at the Brook Lodge Hotel, or functions at the Glenmalure Lodge.
Birchdale House has first class en-suite accommodation; each bedroom is spacious and has a double and a single bed, and television. The guest lounge has satellite TV, and tea/coffee making facilities. There are pubs, restaurants and a variety of outdoor activities close by. Birchdale House welcomes children, pets and smokers.
The train station in Rathdrum (five kilometers away) serves Dublin City and the Ferry Terminals at Dun Laoghaire and Rosslare. Transport to and from the Rathdrum train station can also be arranged as can luggage transfers to other B&B’s and arrangements to taxi guests.
Glendalough National Park (eight kilometers distant), The Meeting of the Waters (eight kilometers distant) and Avoca/Ballykissangel (ten kilometers distant) are very popular attractions and are within easy reach of Birchdale House.
Birchdale House is an ideal location for walking the Wicklow Way, and is six kilometers from Drumgoff on the Wicklow Way. Birchdale House can arrange transport to and from Drumgoff at no charge.

Directions from Rathdrum;
Travel from Rathdrum will take 7 to 10 minutes. From the square in Rathdrum town centre, turn at the Railway pub (beside the Bank of Ireland) towards Greenane/Glenmalure, and travel 800 metres on the one-way traffic system until you reach the fork in the road. Take the left-hand fork towards Greenane, and after 4 kilometres, turn right at the sign for Glendalough/Laragh (see timber fence on left). Birchdale house is 200 metres along on the left and there are signs along this route.
