Tea, coffee and home baking is ready at a moment’s notice as you quickly settle into the elegantly decorated Stirabout Lane B&B superbly maintained by your hosts Daphne and Pat.
Pat and Daphne Cullen have enjoyed the arrival of guests to their home for over 13 years and take pleasure in making your vacation relaxing yet entertaining. As you make your way through their home to your romantically decorated room, guests are greeted with a large wooden framed windows looking out onto Pat’s beautifully constructed secret garden. County Wicklow is known as the garden of Ireland and Pat’s garden design is unrivalled, pathways meander through the flora and with outdoor seating and decking accompanied by the soothing sound of a water feature and pond this garden is without doubt the hidden gem of Rathdrum.
Breakfast time at Stirabout Lane is always a favourite for guests with a Full Irish always on the menu and a selection of homemade jams really sets you on your way to explore the wonders of Wicklow. Daphne’s homemade blueberry and hazelnut pancakes are truly special and accompanied with a fresh bowl of Daphne’s famous porridge is always a treat for guests.
Stirabout Lane home is an ideal base for touring Wicklow and is within close distance to Glendalough ,Powerscourt and Avoca, some of Ireland’s most beautiful and interesting settings. Excellent location for hill walkers and mountain climbers with several trails located nearby.
After a long day exploring the Garden of Ireland you will be welcomed back to your home away from home with a stacked log fire and a comfy couch to rest.
