This charming 19th century house in beautiful setting, overlooking the Ballynahinch salmon river, offers great hospitality in a unique atmosphere. all home-cooking, log fires, lovely rambling gardens, free brown trout fishing, game and coarse fishing arranged. Wonderful walking, beautiful beaches, golf links and excellent restaurants are all nearby. A fairytale house set in beautiful gardens, situated in the heart of Connemara between mountains and the Atlantic Ocean, The Anglers Return overlooks the Ballynahinch River and tidal lake, where otters play and seals can be spotted from the bedroom windows.

The sitting room, with two large bay windows, an open fire, a piano and beautiful books, opens onto a south facing terrace garden, where tea is served. The dining room is huge, breakfast is leisurely and delicious, serving all home made products, mostly organic. The pretty bedrooms are bright, spacious and extremely comfortable, with glorious views from every window. Mature deciduous woodlands are a backdrop for the lovely rambling gardens, offering shelter and peace.

Following winding paths past scented azaleas, an organic vegetable patch, to bluebell woods and midden seats. There is a magic here, with ancient trees, stone walls and tumbling flowers. Marquee garden weddings can be arranged at The Anglers Return, with all the best musicians, caterers, photographers and 5 star accommodaton nearby, to make that small intimate wedding a very different and special one. The pretty fishing village of Roundstone is 7 kilometres, with craft shops, great pubs and excellent seafood restaurants. Clifden is 13 kilometres across the beautiful bog road.

A Four-Day "Plein Air" Painting Workshop with Irish painter, John Dinan

We're pleased to announce this 4-day/4-night, outstanding painting workshop opportunity hosted by The Anglers Return just outside of Roundstone! Open to those interested in advancing their painting skills, brushes of all mediums are welcome. Join with an experienced and supportive professional artist and teacher and enjoy four unforgettable Summer days painting outdoors. You will paint in and near Roundstone, a most beautiful coastal village with it's charming harbours and surrounding panoramic Twelve Bens mountain range. Workshop size is small by design to maximize your access to John for plenty of one-on-one instruction.
€595 pps includes tuition, accommodation at The Anglers Return, full breakfast, light lunch, tea & snacks. €325 to attend class only 10am–4pm. Non-painting partners welcome to come along for €225, accommodation, full breakfast, tea & snacks only.

2013 brings visiting artist, Sylvia Hofflund – International watercolor veteran currently residing in Devon, England. Hosted by The Anglers Return, Sylvia’s workshop is perfect for those interested in advancing their watercolor painting skills. This intimate, informal workshop offers a tremendous opportunity to paint alongside Sylvia both in the studio and out in the field. All levels welcome.
