Intersections are a range of short immersive programmes from Uversity that provide unique learning experiences for visitors across a range of creative disciplines such as theatre, creative writing, graphic design, film, animation, design, fashion, material culture and festivals.
Uversity has designed a series of short immersive programmes ‘Intersections’ for people interested in exploring creativity, arts and culture. Each programme offers an immersive, agile learning experience that enable participants from all walks of life to gain authentic insights into the real life of practising artists and acquire creative experience and skills.
Programmes, ranging from one and a half to five days and include: involve, lectures, artistic practice, cultural visits, master classes and attendance at performances, exhibitions and festivals. The range of creative disciplines covered by the programmes includes theatre, creative writing, graphic design, design, material culture and festivals and is constantly evolving.
Programmes currently available in 2017 include:
THE CURRENT SUITE OF 2017 PROGRAMMES
Immersion in Theatre: A five-day programme including master classes, readings, playwriting workshop with the opportunity to write and perform a ‘tiny play’ and attend a major theatrical production in Dublin.
Date: This experience will run 3 times in 2017 in February, March and October and costs €1,300
Immersion in James Joyce’s Dublin: For lovers of James Joyce, this five-day programme includes master classes, readings and discussions with leading Joycean scholars, attendance at the famous Bloomsday Festival, guided walking tour and Joycean pub crawl.
Date: June 14-18th, €1,200
Curation and Creation: This five-day programme explores Ireland’s rich material cultural heritage. Based in Dublin and Kilkenny, it includes talks, field trips and studio visits to museums, galleries and leading craft, design and applied art studios.
Date: July 17-21st and August 21st – 25th. Cost €1,000
Immersion in Visual Communication: This short two-day programme provides insight into Ireland’s rich design landscape and includes presentations, field trips to studios, galleries and archival resources and take place just before the renowned Offset Dublin Creative Conference.
Date: 15 – 16th February. Cost €350
