If you fancy a fun day out for all the family, join us at this year’s 113th Ballymoney Show in Ballymoney Showgrounds.
Ballymoney Show is a local agricultural show providing 2 days of entertainment for the whole family. We aim to attract visitors, from both the local farming area, the local town and also visitors from the rest of the province, from southern Ireland and mainland GB.
Ballymoney Show is held in the local showgrounds, which are owned by the North Antrim Agricultural Association.
In addition to the 100 plus trade stands, we have more than 1,000 animals being judged on the Saturday – including horses and ponies, cattle, sheep, goats and poultry. Our Home Industries and local schools also provide nearly 2,000 entries with some magnificent displays on offer.
For any of you dog lovers, we hold a Dog & Pet Show on the Friday evening; also on the Friday night there will be YFC football competitions and tug of war.
For the ladies, there will be floral demonstrations and cookery demonstrations by celebrity chefs as well as cookery competitions in our Food Village, alongside artisan food and craft stands selling local produce. Over the 2 days there will also be musical entertainment to suit everyone.
In addition to all this in our children’s area we will be providing children’s workshops as well as the usual face painting, puppet shows, children’s fancy dress, Bonny Baby competitions and bouncy castles.
Ballymoney Show has built a strong sense of community for over 100 years (since 1907). We pride ourselves in the strong young farmers’ involvement with the show – involving 3 local clubs – Finvoy, Kilraughts and Moycraig. The members of these clubs unite to do all the preparation and planning – and this gives them many opportunities to team build. We also involve local traders to exhibit and sponsor our show, which gives them an additional advertising space for their products, and therefore extra sales.
So Ballymoney Show offers something for everyone, no matter what age you are, townspeople or country people, both outdoor and indoor.
