A family friendly event which embraces the concept of sustainability, new technology, art for well-being and community engagement. The festival transforms the heritage town of Listowel into a spectacular lightscape, creating narrative trails.

Listowel Festival of Light - Féile an tSolais - is a family orientated Arts Festival which transforms the heritage town of Listowel into a spectacular lightscape, creating narrative trails, exploring new forms of art that merges with technology and new ways of experiencing art within public spaces.

Highlights of the festival include the Forest of Light in Listowel’s Garden of Europe; an immersive sound and light installation and the Lantern Parade - where everyone is invited to take part, make their own lanterns and experience a truly beautiful evening together.

Visual art exhibitions will run in several locations around the town for a duration of 2 weeks alongside the festival. The festival will incorporate all disciplines - including live music gigs and live poetry readings from local poets. There will be lantern making workshops held for community groups to get involved and make their own paper lanterns for the parade.

2019 is the second year of the festival - run entirely by volunteers!
