The INEC Killarney hosts a new production of Maeve Binchy’s classic tale Minding Frankie which is directed by Peter Sheridan and stars Steve Blount and Clare Barrett in the lead roles.

Minding Frankie tell the tale of Noel, a man who struggles with his addiction to alcohol, trying to become a parent to his daughter Frankie after the girl’s mother, Stella, is struck down with cancer.

Noel must raise Frankie, fight off the attentions and disapprovals of social worker Moira, and show that he can not only be a father, but also a mother to Frankie.

Binchy is one of the country’s favourite writers, whose wit and nose for detailing Irish social traits remains unparalleled, and Minding Frankie is some of her most affecting work.
