See Martin Scorsese's groundbreaking cinematic masterpiece accompanied by a live score that will leave you breathless.

Martin Scorsese's Taxi Driver was a groundbreaking work of cinema when it was first released in 1976. Led by a young Robert De Niro as the disaffected cab driver Travis Bickle, the cast, which also included powerful performances from Jodie Foster (Iris) and Cybill Shepherd (Betsy) deftly painted a grimy, anxious portrait of New York City in the latter half of the 20th century, creating a film that would go on to be studied by film students and achieve cult status among film buffs well into the present day.

Now, you have the chance to see this dramatic masterpiece screened in the gorgeous surrounds of the National Concert Hall and brought to life by Bernard Herrmann’s original score, which will be performed live in accompaniment by the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra.

Be swept away by the brooding, shifting chords, ominous rhythms and soaring saxophone melodies as conductor Robert Ziegler takes you on a very special kind of cinematic journey. The score, delivered the night before he died, would become Herrmann’s coup de grace in what was, by all measures, a spectacular career.
