The NI Countrysports Fair is a two day game and country fair held annually in Scarvagh House.
The NI Countrysports Fair is organised by the NI Heritage and Rural Life Society.
Set in the beautiful surrounds of Scarvagh House, Armagh, this two day event is a showcase for country lifestyle and pursuits as well as rural heritage and culture. Taking place over the bank holiday weekend of 26th & 27th May 2018, the NI Countrysports Fair has something for everyone to enjoy. With its atmospheric and vibrant mix of attractions, displays and demonstrations as well as its competitions, have-a-go activities, shopping and family fun, the show provides the ultimate value-for-money family day out.
Over the two days you can try your hand at many activities such as air rifle shooting, archery, clay pigeon shooting (over 18 years old only), angling for the young, pony rides, dog agility, fly tying and catapulting to name but a few.
There are competitions galore for enthusiasts within equestrian, clay pigeon shooting, gun dogs, lurcher & terriers, ferreting, wildfowling, catapulting and pet dog categories.
At the heart of the show lie a number of arenas with demonstrations each day. If you prefer shopping, you will be spoiled for choice with the vast selection of artisan foods, crafts and country living and lifestyle stands. You will also be treated to some superb cookery demonstrations from a number of our very talented local chefs, who will be using ingredients sourced from producers at the show. Our rural heritage and culture is also celebrated at the show with a number of demonstrators such as blacksmith, wood turner, griddle cooking, bush craft and more.
If after all the activity you want to rest your weary legs, then the lively family area has food, drink, music and a funfair area. With all this and much more on offer, there is plenty to keep everyone entertained over the weekend of the show.
