Kick start the summer with the best of Irish Music at the heart of the Wild Atlantic Way on Sunday 31st May ‘20. Quay Live is a free open air concert, in a 300 year old port town, featuring some of the best Irish songwriters, musicians and performers
As part of the tri-centenary celebrations in Newport, County Mayo, there will be an exciting open-air concert on Sunday, 31st May ‘20. This free gig is set to feature a host of the best Irish musicians, songwriters and performers playing live on the quay of the stunning 300-year-old town, to commemorate its special anniversary.
The line up for this music spectacular includes; Sharon Shannon, Mundy, Frances Black, Mary Coughlan, local talent ‘Coda’ and the welsh ‘Newport Male Voice Choir’.
Newport 300 is the umbrella title for a series of events which will be held in the town of Newport, County Mayo, in 2020. Founded three hundred years ago by the making of a grant from Thomas John Medlicott to Captain Pratt, who built twenty houses in what is now the centre of this beautiful little town at the heart of the Wild Atlantic Way and Great Western Greenway.
The locals are said to be exuberant about the upcoming performance and they will be looking forward to welcoming the acts and fans alike, from near and far, to their little town – where they will discover a hidden gem in the west of Ireland, just 10 minutes from the popular destination of Westport.
