Special scarecrow festival in the historic and unique Moravian village of Gracehill, near Ballymena.
Plans are currently underway for the 3rd Gracehill scarecrow festival, which will run alongside the Heritage Open Days weekend on the 12th and 13th September 2020, when the very unique buildings in this Moravian Village are opened to the public.
Hidden behind trees, hanging out of windows or basking in local gardens, you will find weird and wonderful characters dotted around this historic village. The Scarecrow Festival involves the entire village and the wider community with a competition organised to create special scarecrows, based on any character or theme. Last year was a tremendous success with over 60 groups of scarecrows on display. You can visit the Festival between 11:00 and 18:00 on both days and explore the village with your very own Scarecrow Festival trail.
This event is organised by Gracehill Moravian Church and the Gracehill Village Environmental Committee to raise funds to help maintain and preserve their historic Church and the surrounding grounds of the village for all the community.
