Castletown Roundhouse and Gatehouse can be found in Celbridge, County Kildare. This beautiful house provides a beautiful family get-a-way only 40 minutes outside Dublin. It is just a stones throw away to dine out or for a walk through the parkland.
The Round House and Gate House at Castletown are two of three adjoining gate lodge buildings - known separately as The Round House, The Pottery and The Gate House - and they situated at the bottom of a tree lined avenue leading to Castletown House, they regarded one of the most important eighteenth century estates in Ireland. These vernacular buildings form an important part of the Celbridge landscape and they have become a well-known landmark for both locals and visitors to the area.
Prominently positioned at the top of the Main Street in Celbridge, the Round House and Gate House are located across from the quaint Church of Ireland Christ Church, built in 1884, which retains the majestic tower of an earlier church. This beautiful house provides the opportunity for a delightful getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
The Round House has two double bedrooms, one twin bedroom, gas fired central heating and an open fire in the sitting room. The Round House has many facilities including, an electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, towels and linen, travel cot for infants upon request, a hair dryer, iron and ironing board, cooking utensils and equipment, one bathroom, one separate shower room, a radio and parking for one car.
The Gate House consists of one double bedroom, one single bedroom, a bathroom, a separate shower room and an open fire in the sitting room. It is heated by gas as central heating and the house also contains a washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, iron and ironing board, fridge/freezer, a radio, a travel cot, on request and there is also a parking space for one vehicle and a garden with garden furniture.
If you wish to have a meal out, it is only a short walk from your accommodation to the village or if you go to your left you can relax by walking through the beautiful parkland on the Castletown Estate.
