Of course we’ll say céad míle fáilte (one hundred thousands welcomes in Gaelic) when you arrive in Ireland. But just after that, we’ll ask you for your passport. There are different requirements for different nationalities so here’s what you need to know when visiting Ireland from GCC countries. 


To enter the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland, you need a valid passport. Always check what form of ID is required with your individual airline, ferry company or travel agent before travelling.


GCC national visitors to Republic of Ireland require an Irish visa. GCC national visitors to Northern Ireland require a UK visa.

UAE Nationals do not require a visa to travel to the Republic of Ireland

An online visa application facility for Ireland is available to GCC national visitors. Short stay Visa Waiver Program

The Short-Stay Visa Waiver Scheme allows GCC visitors who have valid UK visit visas to also visit Ireland, without the need for an Irish visa.
