9-12 Haddington Terrace, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin,
Mr James Walsh
Haddington House is a boutique hotel on the seafront in Dun Laoghaire overlooking Dublin Bay. Originally four Georgian townhouses the hotel began it's life as Haddington House, a finishing school for girls. it was converted into a hotel in the 1950's
Haddington House is a cultural, entertainment and hospitality landmark in Dublin. With a building that dates back to the 19th century, we've also got a lot of history!
Our beautiful townhouses were converted into a hotel in 1954 and up until recently, the hotel was called the Kingston Hotel. In August 2015, ownership changed to the team behind the successful Oliveto restaurant group and works have begun to extensively refurbish the hotel but spread over five years to ensure zero guest disruption. In line with these works and in a re-positioning of the hotel, the new Haddington brand better reflects the aspirations of the hotel going forward – the name is taken from our actual street address (9-12 Haddington Terrace) but is also a nod to the past when it was previously used as a ladies finishing college called Haddington House.
Haddington House will be the definition of a boutique hotel, an urban retreat allowing diners, business travellers, tourists and culture seekers all happily interact and have a memorable time. Our rooms are affectionately called Crash Pads, Cosy, Comfy and Classic. Crash Pads are small rooms but packed with personality, our Cosy Rooms are designed to maximise space so you have everything you need, our Comfy Rooms are pretty special and contain added features whilst our classic rooms have the additional bonus of being in the old townhouses with full views over Dublin Bay. All rooms are en-suite and equipped with free wifi, TV, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. The Deluxe Category of room offers Queen size beds, bespoke furniture and stunning sea views. Each room comes with extra luxuries and a late check out as standard.
Haddington House is also much more than a place to sleep and eat, it is also the home of Oliveto Restaurant & Bar which local critics have called “right on the money”. Oliveto mixes classic Italian dishes with a growing passion for chargrilled meats & fish and is open from early till late seven days a week.
Haddington House is also home to the Library Bar which is three interconnected rooms with its own entrance, its own bar, its own bathroom and unbelievable views over Dublin Bay. From private lunches/dinners for corporates to family gatherings and christenings to glam cocktail parties, the Library Bar is unique and a much sought after space by guests and locals. Throw in our stunning garden hut bar with unparalleled sea views, our Summer BBQ menu, our recognition from One Fab Today as one of the best wedding locations in Ireland, our spacious Oak Room for corporate presentations, free parking (albeit limited) and our position close to amenities for swimming, tennis, horse-riding, golf and sailing.
It is easy to see why Haddington House is fast becoming one of the most sought after hotels in Ireland.
